I recently had a conversation with a dear friend about her obsession with white shoes right now. I just need a pair of perfect white pumps, she said...and you know what that means:
LKIS on the job.
White shoes are so stylish this summer and finding her the perfect pair of pumps is the preferred pastime of this preoccupied person (how's that for alliteration?!).
I found these great pumps from Steven by Steve Madden:

And, these ideally priced BCBGeneration ones:

I then began to slowly veer off target...white shoes...hmmm...so many options...
These Lanvin ones added a touch of rock'n'roll with the gold heel and metallic piping.

I love these ones from Jimmy Choo with toe-out-heel-in:

Then I found these spiked platforms from Louboutin that made me okay with this overused trend sticking around:

And, then I thought, heck, let's go for sandals in white too, right?!
...
We shot another #FashionFix video this week and it was all about how best to shop for second hand clothing, whether it be vintage, thrift or swapping, there are a ton of great tips in our video!
I put on some comfy summer clothes (gotta love the weather!) and headed to the studio.

Nikki B. and I got started planning our segment...and of course laughing a bunch!

But I figured after all that talk about going second hand clothing shopping, I should probably give y'all a few great options that we have here in Montreal:

Last week I headed to Rouge Nail Bar to check out the latest from Bourjois Paris.
The day was complete with nail art, makeup and stick-on tattoos...talk about a perfect afternoon!

There were tons of goodies on display and I couldn't wait to play with all the pretty products! The whole collection for Spring 2013 is Sixties Remix and is fun, flirty and is retro glam with a pop-art feel.

I flipped for the summer colours that they have, especially the mint-y green and light blue nail lacquer (called Adora-bleu! How cute is that?!)

I headed over to the nail bar to indulge in a little summery mani. I picked the blue and then decided on a fun design complete with silver accents and nail stickers from the Easy Nail Art kit.

The end result:

Next I headed over to get my makeup ...
There is nothing like a story that captures the imagination and invokes an entire style aesthetic...think of Saturday Night Fever, Gone With the Wind and The Seven Year Itch...well, enter The Great Gatsby and enter Montreal's ball go-ers in full 20s glamour. The story truly came to life last week at the Daffodil ball.
An evening to raise funds for cancer, this gala is not to be missed and brings out the best in fashion and style. With a theme like the Great Gatsby, this evening couldn't help being uber-glamourous.

Centerpieces piled high with daffodils (of course) and perfectly glimmering globes.

The room was packed and twinkling with giant chandeliers- well done Luxe rentals and Decor & More Inc.!

I sipped bubbly and got to watch the inspired attendees. I loved this woman's piles of pearls and art deco headpiece.

Beaded dresses were everywhere and done ...
So, here's the thing:
When I was little, on my birthday, I would wish for the Barbie Dreamhouse or the latest Jem and the Holograms band member...Now, the wishes may be different today (yes, it's my birthday!), but they are just as filled with fantasy.
What comprises these birthday wishes at my ripe old-ish age?
Why, Chanel of course.
For Spring/Summer, Chanel showed the most ridiculous hoola-hoop inspired bag.

While this wickedly oversized beach bag garnered a whole bunch of eyebrow-raising, I was smitten. It was fun, unique and filled with a sense of humour and whimsy...

This runway version ended up being a little too large-and-in-charge for the real retail world...

And, as a result, Chanel granted a true birthday wish, by making a more normal-sized version available to the public.

There is a mini one, too...pretty cute.

While I still ...
