LKISObsession: Colour me Bad (in a good way!)
I am completely obsessed with coloured hair...no, I don't mean coloured as in blonde or brunette. I am talking Rainbow Brite style candy-coated locks that look beyond jaw-dropping. The coolest part of this trend is the dip-dyed look that makes it totally colourful and totally chic at the same time.
I think the pioneers of this look (Cyndi Lauper anyone?!) would be totally proud. And, I am not sure why there is this resurrection of the pink tips, or raver-esque coiffes, but this girl (me) is totally smitten as a rainbow-striped kitten.
Here are a few of my absolute favourite looks from this My-Little-Pony-inspired trend.
Purple is uber-awesome.

I love the screaming red for brunettes.

Feather-y multi-colours is completely original.

And, fuchsia is all-the-rage.

Green is the most unqiue (and I have to say the colour that I am bonkers for).

And, what about rainbow ombre? From bright pink to intense purple is a style-statement.

Okay, so how does a girl go about getting this look?
Well, you could head into your local hair salon and ask for the dip-dyed do, or you can try a couple of less permanent (and/or scary) options:
This paint-on product called Color Bug from Kevin Murphy was actually used backstage at Montreal Fashion Week for the Melissa Nepton show:

And, I have actually purchased the easiest option which are clip-in extensions from H&M.
I can't wait to blow dry my hair straight and pop in some pink and purple!
Another cool option (I haven't tried this, so if you do, I want to know if it actually works!): Hair Chalking.
Check out this blog for instructions on how to get this DIY look. http://thebeautydepartment.com/2012/01/chalk-it-up/
Coloured hair (and I do mean "coloured") invokes a sense of rock'n'roll, rebellion and in a softer shade of pink, mauve, and turquoise, there is an added element of cartoon/storybook romance.
A totally unique combination which is definitely what I call stylish.
