LKISStyle: Summer Trends...My Vacation With Orange
Ahhhhhh, summer vacation...It is honestly my favourite.
I am one of those weird freaks who likes (yes, I said likes) to pack. It is basically an opportunity to take inventory of my closet and make decisions about how I want to look on each day I am away... Oh, the possibilities!!!
It is the perfect place to take chances, try out different looks and only run the risk of a few wonky vacation pictures (okay, in my case it means sharing my fashion sense with the world, but that is the fun of this gig, right?!).
I should also mention that I noticed a ton of electric orange gracing the runways this season and given that it is not my favourite colour, I wasn't exactly sure how to integrate it into my vacation packing...
So, I figured I would record a snapshot of this little adventure in personal style.
I decided that while on this year's summer vacay, not only should I embrace the orange trend, but I should celebrate it!
I managed to pull together (what I think is) a pretty stellar bright orange get-up...and here's how...
Without any sunkissed-ness yet, I went for it and channeled a little warm weather.
When wearing orange, it is important to apply the appropriate makeup (coppers, browns, bronzers: They all work!).
I happen to be obsessed with my Marcelle bronzer, and cannot get enough of the Covergirl Flipstick in the colour Minx that came in the June GLOSSYBOX (If you want to give GLOSSYBOX a try, use promo code GBCanada2).
Then it was on to the additional colours in my outfit:
White seemed to be a pretty good basic option to tie together with my bold citrus look.
As for accents and accessories: I opted for silver (with a dash of colour in my oversized earrings) to highlight the white, as the orange was already a pretty big statement.
So, the finished look was a casual summer outfit, with a bit of trend and a lot of fun.
What is your favourite summer style this season? Give it a whirl and throw it in your suitcase!
Thank goodness for vacation!
And, now, what trend should I experiment with next...?
