There's quite the connection piece now between Kelly Clarkson and boyband sensation One Direction. Simon Cowell came to Kelly and asked her if she would let the boys record one of the songs she had written for herself. Kelly says she is very particular about giving her songs away because she feels like they are her babies and she would rather sing them herself, but on this occasion after hearing the boys sing, she let them have her song "Tell Me A Lie" and the track did make it on to their very successful debut album, "Up All Night."

Kelly says that she believes One Direction have been successful because they have a great story about how their career was launched and people love a good story not to mention that the boys have an inocence about them that attracts people. It probably also doesn't hurt that they are quite cute and teenage girls go nutty for them. If you're a fan of Kelly's, even though she has been busy promoting her album "Stronger" and working on the show Duets, she has already started work on a new CD. No release date has been announced yet.
