LKIS on the job.
White shoes are so stylish this summer and finding her the perfect pair of pumps is the preferred pastime of this preoccupied person (how's that for alliteration?!).
I found these great pumps from Steven by Steve Madden:

And, these ideally priced BCBGeneration ones:

I then began to slowly veer off target...white shoes...hmmm...so many options...
These Lanvin ones added a touch of rock'n'roll with the gold heel and metallic piping.

I love these ones from Jimmy Choo with toe-out-heel-in:

Then I found these spiked platforms from Louboutin that made me okay with this overused trend sticking around:

And, then I thought, heck, let's go for sandals in white too, right?!

I put on some comfy summer clothes (gotta love the weather!) and headed to the studio.

Nikki B. and I got started planning our segment...and of course laughing a bunch!

But I figured after all that talk about going second hand clothing shopping, I should probably give y'all a few great options that we have here in Montreal:

Sharyn Scott: 4925 Sherbrooke W.

This store is packed with luxury goodies you won't wanna miss...vintage Chanel? Yes, Please.

ERA Vintage Wear: 1800 Notre-Dame O.
This store doesn't feel like a second hand clothing shop and ...

LKISEvents: Getting Beautified With Bourjois Paris

Last week I headed to Rouge Nail Bar to check out the latest from Bourjois Paris.
The day was complete with nail art, makeup and stick-on tattoos...talk about a perfect afternoon!

There were tons of goodies on display and I couldn't wait to play with all the pretty products! The whole collection for Spring 2013 is Sixties Remix and is fun, flirty and is retro glam with a pop-art feel.

I flipped for the summer colours that they have, especially the mint-y green and light blue nail lacquer (called Adora-bleu! How cute is that?!)

I headed over to the nail bar to indulge in a little summery mani. I picked the blue and then decided on a fun design complete with silver accents and nail stickers from the Easy Nail Art kit.

The end result:

Next I headed over to get my makeup ...

LKISEvents: Great Gatsby at the Daffodil Ball

There is nothing like a story that captures the imagination and invokes an entire style aesthetic...think of Saturday Night Fever, Gone With the Wind and The Seven Year Itch...well, enter The Great Gatsby and enter Montreal's ball go-ers in full 20s glamour. The story truly came to life last week at the Daffodil ball.
An evening to raise funds for cancer, this gala is not to be missed and brings out the best in fashion and style. With a theme like the Great Gatsby, this evening couldn't help being uber-glamourous.

Centerpieces piled high with daffodils (of course) and perfectly glimmering globes.

The room was packed and twinkling with giant chandeliers- well done Luxe rentals and Decor & More Inc.!

I sipped bubbly and got to watch the inspired attendees. I loved this woman's piles of pearls and art deco headpiece.

Beaded dresses were everywhere and done ...

LKISObsession: My Birthday Bag Wish For Chanel

So, here's the thing:
When I was little, on my birthday, I would wish for the Barbie Dreamhouse or the latest Jem and the Holograms band member...Now, the wishes may be different today (yes, it's my birthday!), but they are just as filled with fantasy.
What comprises these birthday wishes at my ripe old-ish age?
Why, Chanel of course.
For Spring/Summer, Chanel showed the most ridiculous hoola-hoop inspired bag.

While this wickedly oversized beach bag garnered a whole bunch of eyebrow-raising, I was smitten. It was fun, unique and filled with a sense of humour and whimsy...

This runway version ended up being a little too large-and-in-charge for the real retail world...

And, as a result, Chanel granted a true birthday wish, by making a more normal-sized version available to the public.

There is a mini one, too...pretty cute.

While I still ...

LKISStyle: April Showers Bring May Flowers (and Cute Raingear!)

It's Spring! Yay! But it's rainy...booooo?
If you have the right gear to look good when it is raining and pouring, you will be loving the rain (instead of snoring!)!
First up, you need a great raincoat. And, trust me, this wardrobe staple is available for all budgets and tastes. Here are a few of my favourites that will definitely leave you singing in the rain:
I absolutely love this rain cape from Lole:

Pastel Polka dots are adorably girly from www.nastygal.com:

You cannot go wrong with the classic trench from Burberry:

If you aren't afraid of getting a little wet, then this boyfriend military jacket from J.Crew is yuppy perfection:

This green jacket from Joe Fresh will have you feeling that spring fever:

Keeping the rain away is easy with an adorable umbrella. Personally, I love clear ones (then you ...

LKISStyle: World Mastercard Fashion Week, Outfit Post, Part 2

Like I said (in my post yesterday on www.lkisstyle.com !), part of the fun of heading to World Mastercard Fashion Week is getting dolled up in...one might say...more interesting outfits. Have thoughts on what I wore? See the bottom of the post for your chance to share your fashion opinion and win a giveaway!

Day 3:
On the third day of World Mastercard Fashion Week this season, I was super-excited to have been sent menswear from Christopher Bates to wear to his show!
He sent me a whole bunch of stuff to choose from.

I ended up selecting his awesome black blazer.

I added a more feminine white BCBG tank underneath...

And, some jewellery, leather shorts from H&M and my lace top Karms for an LKIS-take on menswear.

Day 4:

I decided to go for colour on day four with a purple vintage maxi from Jean Muir.

There was so much to see that I had to do part one (check it out here: http://montreal.virginradio.ca/blog/Style/blogentry.aspx?BlogEntryID=10519923#) and now it's time for part two!

1. There was no shortage of awesome colour:
Ainsley Kerr and her fellow front row friend were working complementary green and red.

IMG sweetheart Ashleigh McKillop was totally traffic stopping in this awesome neon dress.

And, I loved these powered-up pink Oxfords.

2. Designers were looking fab as spectators:
Adrian Wu was up front for Ashtiani.

The Bustle duo was bringing it for Rudsak.

3. Statement Accessories were no stranger to Fashion Week:
Stacey Mckenzie rocked ...

LKISEvents: World Mastercard Fashion Week, The Scene, Day 1 and 2

I love sitting on the runway during World Mastercard Fashion Week and watching the latest creations from some of our best designers breeze by...but I also really love wandering the tents, pre-and-post shows checking out the trends worn by the very stylish (and sometimes wacky) show-goers.
Some looks obviously end up sticking out, because I see them so much I kinda' start seeing double... And, only on day one and two, there were already a ton of fashion trends and fashion friends to see.
1. The Braided Updo
Loved this (allegedly) easy look that adds the perfect softness.

2. Girly Bows
Fashion can still be totally girly...Spotted: Biko Beauttah in girly glam and a Betsey Johnson bag with golden bows.

3. Awesome Accessories
How to standout at fashion week: Wear a cool accessory that everyone will want like my girls Talia and Bianca!

4. Front ...

LKISObession: Setting the Mood

Remember mood rings? I know right?!
I can distinctly recall being at my desk in elementary school trying to assess what mood I was in based on the colour of my jewellery.
And, check out the old school mood chart I found!

So, how cool is this:
You can get mood makeup (seriously).

I love these nailpolishes from In the Mood that change colour.

And, check out this lipgloss from Essence called Tint It! which also changes colour!

I tested it out:
Goes on blue and I guess I am in a good mood, because it changed to pink!!!

Well, if you don't feel like wearing your heart on your...um...face (?) then you can always go for the classic mood ring! The Bay has this awesome fashion mood ring available online.

So, did I get you in the mood?
xxx
