Canada gets ready for Green Day's American Idiot Musical!

Posted By: Amanda Ste-Marie · 12/23/2011 10:19:00 AM

When I found out that the American Idiot Musical was ending on Broadway at the end of April 2011 I booked my ticket to NYC right away! To top it off Green Day's lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong was playing the role of St. Jimmy for the final month.

If you've listened to Green Day's American Idiot album you'll know that the whole CD is a story- the perfect base for a Broadway show. Every scene was a different Green Day song performed and acted by the Broadway cast and Billie Joe himself.

The cast was numerous and featured American Idol's first runner up Justin Guarini. The story revolved around three young men Johnny, Will, and Tunny discovering love, drugs and having to make life decisions for the first time.

For the final night on Broadway, all members of Green Day showed up and performed a surprise concert after the ...

Neon Trees Get The Party Started!

Posted By: Amanda Ste-Marie · 10/24/2011 10:42:00 AM

Neon Trees put on one hell of a show opening for Duran Duran at the Bell Center.  The alternative quartet, all of whom are Mormons, got their big break when the Killers saw them perform at a club in Las Vegas and were chosen to open for them on tour.  With their eclectic style and retro costumes, Neon Trees definitely fit the bill last night as well.

Lead singer Tyler Glenn had to have drank at least 14 cups of coffee before getting onstage, with an endless supply of energy and dance moves they performed songs off their debut album Habits and ended with their hits Animal (featured on the KIA car commercial) & 1983.

Kings of Leon Bring the South to Montreal

Posted By: Amanda Ste-Marie · 10/21/2011 6:20:00 PM

Kings of Leon had a rocky start to their tour this past summer, when lead singer Caled had a meltdown in Dallas, walked off stage to drink a beer and never came back. What followed was the cancellation of 29 of their upcoming concerts, and rumours about the band breaking up. Thankfully this was not thecase.

Kings of Leon resumed their tour in Vancouver a couple of weeks ago, had have been proving critics wrong ever since. They put on a powerful performance at the Bell Center. Starting off with older material, the three brothers and one cousin, did what they do best; rock. Kings of Leon played all their hits alternating between their 5 albums:Youth and Young Manhood, Aha Shake Heartbreak, Because of he Times, Only by the Night & Come Around Sundown.

Check out the videos of the Southern rockers performing their smash hits Use Somebody & Sex of Fire below!

AWOLNATION Sails through Montreal

Posted By: Amanda Ste-Marie · 10/5/2011 11:44:00 AM

Last night, AWOLNATION rocked out to a PACKED crowd at La Tulipe, which was surprising for a band who have never played here before! There was screaming, fist-pumping and crowd surfing!

AWOLNATION have just come out with their first full-length album Megalithic Symphony. What's great about their cd is that every song is different. The fans who were expecting to hear songs that resembled their single Sail, might have been a little disappointed. AWOLNATION can go from electropunk to metalcore in one track. Singer Aaron Bruno said "I want to make music that everyone could relate to: Mom, Dad, hipster, hip-hop kid" and this was certainly apparent in the diverse crowd last night.

Were you there, and did you enjoy the show?
