The Rubaiyats had one single for the Sansu label in 1966. Both sides, "Omar Khayyam" and "Tomorrow," were written by
Allen Toussaint and both are New Orleans soul with duo male vocals; "Omar Khayyam" shows an up-tempo Motown influence and "Tomorrow" is much sultrier. It has been speculated that
the Rubaiyats were
Allen Toussaint himself and
Willie Harper and the same as the duo of
Willie & Allen, who also did one single for Sansu in 1966. Both sides of
the Rubaiyats' single -- and both sides of
Willie & Allen's single, as well -- are on the Sundazed compilation Get Low Down!: The Soul of New Orleans '65-'67.
