The earthy Christian rocker
Ashley Cleveland began her career during the mid-1980s as a Nashville session vocalist, singing on well over 200 records before cutting her own demo tape with drummer/producer
Craig Krampf. The recording won her a contract with Atlantic Records, and in 1991 Cleveland issued her debut album
Big Town. She moved to the Reunion label for 1993's Bus Called Desire; for
Lesson of Love, issued two years later, she earned her first Grammy award.
