Alphaphone, Vol. 1: Step, Write, Run collects most of the material released in the first year of operation of Kirk's previously vinyl-only, dance-oriented Alphaphone label, including tracks from Cold Warrior, Yellow Square, Papadoctrine, and International Organization (Kirk pseudos one and all). The two-CD set is a nice blend of straight-up Kirk/Sandoz/Electronic Eye-styled techno and more meandering, midtempo breakbeat fare.
