Album Review

After a decade plugging away on the French dance music scene, Parisian DJ Martin Solveig's fifth studio album, Smash, provided him with the commercial breakthrough he deserved, attracting the attention of Madonna, who asked him to help produce her new album in the process. Packed with epic floor-fillers and anthemic radio-friendly pop melodies, the follow-up to 2008's C'est la Vie includes four tracks featuring Canadian electro outfit Dragonette, including the European hit single "Hello" and collaborations with Bloc Party's Kele Okereke ("Ready to Go"), U.S. singer/rapper Dev ("We Come to Smash [In a Black Tuxedo]"), and indie pop starlet Sunday Girl ("Let's Not Play Games").
