The opening ceremonies in Beijing are my best memories of the Olympic Games in China. To be surrounded by all the elite athletes in the world at the largest sports gathering is simply incredible. I had never experienced anything like it. The feeling is indescribable. When I walked through the stadium with its 80,000 spectators, that is the moment I realized I was at the Olympic Games. I could see a few Canadian flags in the stadium. I was so proud to be Canadian and to represent my country at the world's biggest sports event.

When the flame was lit, it officially announced the start of the Games. For me, it was definitely the best moment of the Games!
